The Mansion: Going Beyond Hotel Rebranding

When I was in college, it was hard not to look back at Sarabia Manor Hotel and Convention Center as you pass by. After all, a decade and more years ago, this hotel was then an imposing structure in Iloilo City. Grand and big where “it” crowd parties ( then called, ” disco” or “clubbing”), and its restaurants, where couples to enjoy romantic dates, were named as one of the best in the country. The hotel was then the only choice for those who want to stay in a luxury hotel in Iloilo and where  companies used to hold their conventions and events.

Along the way topped with new competitions, the hotel may have lost a little of its grandiose reputation. Still, it is undeniable that the name still rings a bell and people choose to remember its upscale appeal.

The Mansion redefines customer value

Bringing not just back its old glory but setting the bar higher, Brightside Properties and Resorts, Inc acquired the property in early 2017 promising massive developments for the next 3-5 years. The family behind Brightside Properties and Resorts has been in the steel industry for half a century and The Mansion is their first ever venture in the hospitality industry.

Our hotel will redefine customer value, where comfort is premium and everybody is relaxed and at ease; where engaging service is synonymous to an all-around pleasant and singular experience,” said Mr. Noel Sinclaire P. Sy, Chief Operating Officer of Brightside Properties and Resorts, Inc.

The Mansion was formally launched last August 17 in the newly refurbished Kalantio Hall. The new name was a thrill and I personally like the name, The Mansion. After all, the city of love is home to old mansions and heritage homes. Purple and gold colors dominate that night symbolizing how the new management wants their guests to be treated –  with luxury and royalty.

More than a change of name

I have seen the major facelifting operations the night before the launch when I attended a school event in one of their function halls. More than the renovations, it was easy to spot the changes one of them was the food served during our parents’ assembly, the good impression continued during the launch with yes, great food all 300 guests devoured that night.

A quick media tour around the property where renovations and refurbishing operations are continually taking place. The lobby was given a minimalist modern look.

As a convention center, The Mansion has seven function halls and three boardrooms. See the Chinese-Filipino interiors of the renovated boardroom.

During the press conference following the brand launch, Noel Sy shares the impeccable team behind The Mansion coming from luxury hotels and top names in the industry.  What can we expect from The Mansion? Sy states that it will be ” a 3-star hotel with 5-star service“.

From the initial changes of the structure and food and seeing the team behind The Mansion, I am looking forward to what lies ahead. I’m looking forward enjoying their pool over great food and continuously patronizing Freddy’s now Freddy’s Bar + Kitchen.

Most of all, I’m looking forward spending a staycation in one of their renovated rooms, blogging about it as well as recommending The Mansion as hotel of choice for my family, friends, and you, dear readers.
