MamaLey’s Resort is one of the newest places to stay in the island of Guimaras. With travel as one of the industries badly hit by the Covid pandemic, we were limited when it comes to destinations.
We badly needed to go out and get some tan. Seriously, I’ve never been this pale my whole life. But to be honest, I’ve been to the island many times but I’ve never experienced a resort in Guimaras where it is quite but the facilities are complete. True, Guimaras has many secluded islands and coves but with two kids (and a dog), I need a place where we have good shower, good food, and most of all- safe.
Glad that I stumbled upon MaLey’s Resort on Facebook. I was drawn to their beach, which is sort of still undiscovered by most tourists. Likewise, I’ve transacted via SMS and email with Maley’s Resort and they were very efficient.
As part of Tando Beach area of Guimaras, you’ll get a chance to have a feel of the island vibe and the locals. During our first day, there were other locals who swam in the beach while on the other side are fishing boats. It’s very authentic and we love it.
The beach of Mamaley’s Resort for me is a local secret and we spent our second day all day at the beach. We deserve it after months of lockdown!

Accommodations and Rooms at MamaLey’s Resort Guimaras
I initially booked for a family suite (4 pax) but at the last minute, the owner, Ms Leah offered us the Bamboo House. I think it is their private space but we are beyond grateful to have stayed there. We appreciate how staying there gave us more privacy. It also ensured that we are far from other guests following the protocol of social distancing.
I love the Bamboo House. No tv, kids got a break from aircon rooms, and we heard the waves from the living area. Pure bliss!

I highly recommend you book their island tours. We skipped it because we love their beachfront so much and after countless times of visiting Guimaras, we have been to popular island hopping attractions in Guimaras – but I was wrong.
This resort in Guimaras will take you to “undiscovered” attractions. Just a few minutes from Mamaley’s cove, we went to Dalum Balas Cove.
Next time, we will surely book their island hopping tours. Check this out.
Their facilities are far above being adequate – just perfect for us to have a relaxing time. I included their staff as part of their facilities because I think they are the asset of this resort in Guimaras.
They took care of us. Very welcoming without intruding our boundaries. It’s like visiting your family in the province and they want to make sure that you are having a good time. It felt like family and I told my husband that the owners must be great people because their staff also took care of the resort and their growing reputation as a resort in Guimaras.

How to Get to Mamaley’s Resort
If you going to hire a vehicle, you just tell the driver to take you to Tando Beach Area.
For those who will be going with their own car like us, here’s how to get there. Drive going to Nueva Valencia ( the route going to popular Alubijod Beaches but it is really farther than Alubijod). If you’ve been to Guisi Lighthouse, that’s the same area.
Sadly the signage at the corner going to Guisi Lighthouse is blocked by growing plants ( hope the local tourism can clear it), but this is the corner. Maybe when you go there, the gasoline station is done. This is located on the right side of the road from Jordan Port. Turn right.
Drive for 7 minutes and you’ll see this sign on the left. The end of this road is Guisi Lighthouse.
After 12 minutes, you will arrive at Barangay Tando Plaza. You won’t get lost because this is also the end of the road.
Turn right and you will see this sign.
Maybe less than 10 meters and you will arrive at Mamaley’s Resort – they have a big green gate. Welcome to this relaxing resort in Guimaras!
