When I was still studying in UP Visayas, my friends often brag about Baras Beach Resort. I think during that time, it was a sought-after resort especially among those who want a rustic resort in Guimaras.
I didn’t miss the chance to visit Baras Beach during our last island hopping in the island – just out of curiosity. As of this writing, Baras Beach is not open for business. Our boatmen told us some information about the death of the owner but I won’t be sharing more details since I can’t verify if they were true or not. What I got is that it is currently up for sale, in double digit millions.
I understand the popularity of Baras Beach Resort back in the day. Today it is in a shabby state but you can still see that way it was a hip place to enjoy island life. Secluded and peaceful. We spotted the resort’s sail boat and run-down structures. Littered around the resort are empty bottles and burnout camp fires. I assume locals still sneak into the property.
How luxurious it would have been to wake up to the placid waters in this part of Guimaras.
The sand is not as soft but I can envision what a nice place Baras Beach was. The scenery and the beachfront is still a sight to behold.
Gorgeous..
I hope someone can buy and develop the property, bringing Baras Beach Resort back to its reputation as one of the best resorts in Guimaras. Have you been to Baras Beach?
