As a mom, preparing meals for my family is a big part of my daily routine. I want to make sure that it is balanced, nutritious, and even easy for me to prepare. Chitchatting with a gym buddy in between workouts, led us to snacking in the workplace. It has been a long time since I worked in an office, but as much as I can, I pack snacks for the hubby especially when he is driving out-of-town.

Snacking is important to fuel us but they can be great culprits in our overall nutrition. We know that sitting all day at work and resisting the urge to food like burgers, pizzas and burritos is hard and when your colleague is eating in front of you, the resistance becomes much harder. But keeping healthy choice in your snacks is very important even if you don’t have the luxury to cook your own healthy snacks.

Changing your work snacks from high calories and high fat to low fat and high protein food can make a big difference in your health. Your blood sugar drops every four to five hours after you eat. So it is better to eat small frequently rather than big one time to keep your metabolism healthy and running. For frequent small meals you can use snacks which are healthy and easy to digest.

We all know fruits are rich with protein and vitamins. They are one of the best snacks during your long workday. You can make fruit salad or slice them and eat all day. You can also bake slices of apples if you want some variety in your snacks.
