Before groceries and supermarkets from bigger companies opened in Iloilo, Iloilo Supermart has been serving the Ilonggos for decades. To reach out to more shoppers, Iloilo Supermart opened their newest branch at Citymall Tagbak capturing more market from Jaro all the way to the neighbouring municipalities like Leganes.
Thus, there is no need to go to the city proper to shop for household supplies and food from Iloilo’s trusted supermarket. With its location close to Tagbak Terminal, you can shop for supplies before your long trip as well as suited for passengers going home to northern Iloilo, Capiz, and even Aklan.
Our nearest branch is Iloilo Supermart Jaro, but the Tagbak branch is bigger. Last Sunday, we went to Iloilo Supermart Tagbak for our bimonthly grocery shopping and to see if it is a good alternative from our usual supermarket choice. All photos were taken during their opening last October 10.
If you have been shopping in other Iloilo Supermart branches, the first thing you will notice is the space and lightning. I personally love the wider aisles.
I don’t have a photo but from last Sunday’s grocery shopping, I love how they use multi-deck fridge for their frozen products. It is easy to see the different brands of products from bacon to tortillas compared to the single deck types.
Of course, prices are cheaper at Iloilo Supermart.

From our first visit, these are the things we like about Iloilo Supermart Tagbak:
1. Wider aisles compared to other branches
2. The vertical fridges ( I don’t know the right term) for frozen products
3. Meat are very fresh ( husband’s comment)
4. We saved at least Php1,000 on top of that, my kids grabbed quite a few things that were not on my list.
5. We won some goodies from pineapple juice to Downy from their mini contest, spin-to-win ( until October 25) and my kids had fun!
