Like any other city in the country, Iloilo City aspires to become a top MICE Destination in the country with new infrastructures and services.
One of these, as we all know is Iloilo Business Park, a multi-billion township development. Within the business park is Iloilo Convention Center, capable of hosting venues such as the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) side meetings last year. During the press briefing held at Richmonde Hotel last April 15,2016, Megaworld executives announced the different awards for their hotels namely Marriot Courtyard and Richmonde Hotel Iloilo.
More than venues, modern facilities such as accommodations are vital for any MICE destination. Not just any hotel, these lodgings should have high standards to cater to the needs and preferences of attendees, winners, and participants of meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions.
Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Iloilo Business Park received to ” Highly Commended” awards for “Best Hotel Development” and “Best Hotel Interior Design” at the 2016 PHilippines Property Awards. The 15-storey, 320-room hotel is set to open next year.
Complementing is Richmonde Hotel Iloilo, a 149-room hotel, which was also given the same accolade as “Highly Commended” for “Best Hotel Interior Design” at the 2015 Philippines Property Awards.
With these two hotels beside the Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo is prepared to host business events. In a press release, Jericho Go states that, ” Having two award-winning hotels in Iloilo business Park is a testament of how Megaworld has alleviated the standards of hotel lifestyle in Iloilo City. This is a first-class city that deserves first-class hotels”.
He further adds that,” Iloilo City is now ready to host huge local and international conventions and events because these award-winning hotels sandwiching the Iloilo Convention Center will be able to provide the amenities and services that visitors and guests deserves.”
With all the developments happening and soon to rise in the business park in the next few years, Harold Geronimo in the same press briefing claims that it will, ” encourage people to look into Iloilo as a destination”.
