When you have children, planning a vacation can be a little more difficult than doing it alone or as a couple. One of the hardest things to get right is picking a destination that the whole family will like. Your children may want something different from you or your partner, but essentially it all comes down to compromise. To give you the best of all worlds, here are six destinations that will keep everyone in the family happy.
Tanzania
There is something extraordinary about an African safari, and it’s something your whole family will remember for years to come. Tanzania is one of the best spots because you can mix things up once again. Spend a few days on the back of a 4X4, exploring the Serengeti, and becoming one with nature. Then, spend a few more days on the white-sanded beaches of Zanzibar to unwind. Tanzania is the ideal destination for adventurous families.
Sardinia
According to The Secret Traveller blog at 1Cover, the north-east corner of Sardinia is one of those destinations that no one quite knows about yet. If you want to expose your family to plenty of culture and stunning landscapes, without crowds of tourists, then Sardinia in Italy is the perfect choice. When you’re ready for some hustle and bustle, head back to Costa Smeralda to join in with the rest of the tourists.
Lapland
If you have children young enough to believe in Santa Claus still, then you have to add Lapland to your bucket list. This is the kind of place where children’s dreams come true, but it’s not all about the kids. You can hire a snowmobile and go cross-country over the snowy terrain or head out on a dog-sled at night to see the Northern Lights.
Cornwall
The UK is a pretty child-friendly place throughout, but Cornwall really wins the award for family vacations. There are so many clubs and activities here, your little ones could be kept busy all day learning how to swim and surf. Spend the rest of the time in the museums, theme parks, aquariums, cider farms, and snapping a photo at the famous Land’s End.
Tokyo
Last year, we all went to Tokyo as a family and, thanks to my husband, managed to check out DisneySea while we were there. While we usually prefer cultural activities as a family, we couldn’t not visit some kind of Disney resort while we were in Tokyo. However, the best thing about the Japanese capital is that you can really mix things up. Spend a few days seeing the Disney attractions, then soak up all of the culture that this city in Japan has to offer. It’s a win-win for all!
Florida
No family-friendly vacations list would be complete without Florida! This is easily one of the most popular destinations in the world for families. The Sunshine State is home to Orlando, which is packed full of some of the best theme parks in the world. You can visit the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and Everglades National Park, to balance out the fun and learning, too.
