One of the most common subjects in painting is flowers. It is one of the most straightforward themes in art. But finding a specific style in painting flowers could be next to impossible. Even the youngest painters start by making their interpretation of these colorful natural objects.

All floral paintings have something new to offer. Because of this fact, there is no right or wrong way of painting flowers. If you want to come up with a different floral painting idea, here are several methods to paint flowers in unique ways possible:

Hand Painted Flower

This technique is one of the easiest ways to paint flowers if you are new to this kind of hobby. come join us at tonight’s provo gallery stroll @writandvision for “a place to belong”, an art exhibit celebrating the book release of A PLACE TO BELONG: REFLECTIONS FROM MODERN LATTER-DAY SAINT WOMEN…a beautiful compilation edited by hollie fluhman and camille fronk olson. … “the waiting place” 48” oil on wood, sold. named after the song, “you’re never alone in your waiting place” by @caleereed. … i tend to be a doer of sorts. always getting things done, trying things out — experimenting, and being ok with trips along the way. in between those trips, turns and learning experiences, i find it necessary to take time in my “waiting place.” there, i take a break from the action…and listen to my heart as my heavenly parents quietly whisper through the holy ghost words of comfort, direction, peace, and wisdom. it is there: my waiting place, where i learned that my purpose is to strengthen and support women. … sometimes i think it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with all of the expectations we place upon ourselves as women. perhaps it’s a cultural pressure we feel, but it’s rarely divine. our heavenly parents desire us to shine in our own way…to learn in our own way…and most vitally, to “become” in our own way. … throughout the painting, you’ll find items that signify the exterior strains you or the women in your life may be feeling. remember that you’re loved…and meant to bloom & blossom in your own way in order to realize your great potential. you are loved, you are needed, and you are exquisitely divine! … #dsflorals #floralartistry #birdsflowers #floralartists #flowerartwork #thickpaint #paletteknifepainting #thickoil #paletteknife #stilllifeart #impastopainting #oilonwood #whatwomencreate #cotfa #dsart #utahartists #womenartists … @holliefluhman #camillefronkolson

While the first color is still a bit wet, add your contrasting color to add more depth to the image. It will require you to paint curved lines that track the edges of the circles you made earlier. Since you are doing this while the first color is slightly wet, the second one will create a beautiful blend. Then add some details by adding stems and leaves.

You can do this by drawing some curved lines off of the flower to serve as the stem, then painting small ‘V’ shaped leaves on it. This step will complete one of the most natural techniques for floral paintings meant for budding artists.

Bubble Paint Flower Hydrangeas

Another easy way to create floral paintings is by using watercolor to paint beautiful hydrangeas. You need a special bubble paint or make your own by mixing one part of acrylic paint, one part of dish soap, and two parts of water. Place the mixture in a dish, and then use it to create beautiful flowers on a piece of cardstock.

Once you manage to get a clump of big bubbles, take out a piece of paper and press it onto the bubbles several times until you get your desired shape. Just make sure that the paper does not touch the rim of the dish container to avoid smudging. Complete the look by painting stems and leaves using watercolor.

Puppy Paw Print Flowers

Another exciting way to make floral paintings is to ask your precious pet for assistance. You can make a memorable keepsake of your puppy by dipping his paws in washable paint or watercolors and then pressing it on a piece of cardstock. Then, decorate it with leaves and stems using a small paintbrush to make the paws look like flowers.

You only need to make sure that the paints do not contain any ingredients harmful to your pets. These ingredients include henna, benzoyl alcohol, or xylitol. After finishing your floral masterpiece, you need to wipe off your pet’s paws or bathe him to remove the paint and avoid spreading it all over the house.

These are several suggestions to create unique floral paintings. All of these will allow you to practice your painting skills while using different painting techniques. Thus, you can come up with an extraordinary way to interpret a broad subject. You can also think of other ways to form flowers using paint and turn them into excellent works of art.
