Why I Love My Job

I have been a freelance writer for more than three years. I don’t want to eat my words in the future but I can’t imagine having another job than this. This is perfect and maybe most of you will rage if I say that “I LOVE MY JOB”.

Why? I will not enumerate those “common” advantages of freelance writing but I personally love my job because I can be with them..

I’m writing this entry to coincide with Mother’s Day because I found my craft and niche from a mother’s love. My love. I had a hard time trusting nannies while I was away for more than eight hours a day. So I asked for some Divine Guidance to give me job where I can still earn while taking care of my son. It sounded hopeless but here I am.

Having another child is not an issue.  I can get pregnant and still “work”.

I can always attend to school activities from start to finish enjoying how my little boy has grown up so fast..

Hubby’s job requires him to travel and he can always take us along. And my boys are certified travelers. Aside from my sons, my laptop is my most important baggage.

We love hanging out in hotel rooms that my four-year fondly calls “big room”. And I’m their “royal nanny”. haha

I take my job as a freelance writer seriously. I just don’t do this for the sake of earning extra cash. It is the kind of job that can literally let me take my kids along. Here we are at the Chapel of Cartwheels, one of the churches I featured in my article for Mabuhay Magazine.

I honor mothers who have to be apart from their kids to make some living.  And this is one of the things that I continually thank God everytime I pray. I have more plans for my freelance writing career but I want to take it slow. Someday my boys will grow up and will wander on their own. So I make use of this time that their worlds revolve around me.

Happy Mother’s Day!
