Santa Barbara Iloilo Golf Course: Take Two

This is the longest time that I haven’t shared anything here in my blog. My apologies, I’ve been struggling with my schedule as a freelance writer with tons of assignments and keeping up with my 3 boys- my 2 curly sons and my of course, my hubby.

Since this is like my “comeback” I’m sharing one of the most beautiful places here in my adopted city of Iloilo – Santa Barbara Golf Course. Actually, this isn’t the first time that I blogged about this place  so to save myself from dealing with its history and other important details, click here for my original post.

To recap, Santa Barbara Golf Course is the oldest in the Philippines with its history dating back in 1907 when Scottish engineers inspired by their homecountry constructed a golf course as their pastime while making railoads. More than a hundred years after, this is one place I love to go for a relaxing stroll. And if you want to clear your mind and in my case, as a freelance writer, I need very serene place to unclutter my mind.

Ironically, we don’t come here for golf but we love taking a walk with this very calm surrounding.

When we first visited this golf course, its ponds reminded me of Japanese gardens…

As a historical place, you can come here anytime even if you are not a member of the country club. Here we saw one member playing golf, I think he is just a novice 🙂

For this second trip, we were able to visit its small museum which used to be its old clubhouse. Here is my son, Akira looking at centuries-old golf balls..

This is the current clubhouse of Santa Barbara Golf Course and Country Club

After our lazy walk around the golf course, we look forward for a nice dining treat in their clubhouse. Santa Barbara Golf Course and Country Club is located close to the Iloilo Airport. So if you have more time before your flight, come and experience this historical place in Iloilo!

As for me, this is a nice spot to share as a freelance writer:)

It is very easy to lift the ball using the club and finding your
targets is not difficult. It has some incredible views of the
mountains which seem as if they are towering above you.
