UPDATED: RoRo Iloilo-Bacolod Schedule and Rates

Roro from Iloilo to Bacolod makes inter-island travel easier and you know how comfortable and convenient it is to have your own car during your trips. RoRo is highly convenient especially those who want to bring their own vehicles. Ship from Dumangas are cheaper too.

Currently, there you have two options where to ride a RoRo – Dumangas port or at LaPuz Port. Dumangas Port caters to three shipping lines – Montenegro Lines, TriStar MegalinkLines, and Millennium Lines while Lapuz Port is for FastCat.

FastCat is highly convenient to travel and if you don’t mind the price difference and your schedule is not tight, I highly recommend FastCat. FastCat is also great since it is within the city proper.

On the other hand, if you need more options when it comes to Roro schedules from Iloilo to Bacolod and vice versa, head to Dumangas Port. Serving three shipping lines, there are 40 trips per day starting at midnight until 11:45 PM

RoRo Iloilo to Bacolod via Dumangas

For Dumangas Port, all RoRo will dock at BREDCO port in Bacolod. For passengers, you need to enter the new terminal contrary to the old way of just directly going to the ship.

Pay your ticket and your terminal fee at the ticket counters near the entrance.

For students, seniors, PWDs,  and members of the AFP are exempted from terminal fee payments (show valid IDs).

  1. Hello po. Ask lang po. Are there any means of transportation from Dumangas port to Jaro or Mandurriao (preferrably jeep) if I take the 8pm trip and arrive at Dumangas around 10pm or so? What the route if I take the jeepney?

  3. Hello Kate.

The only public transportation near Dumangas port is a tricycle. I’m not sure though where they can bring you, but I had friends who chartered a tryk to Leganes town plaza and from there, they took a jeepney to SM city (their destination).

    Hope this helps!

  4. Hi Jeff,

I don’t work for any of these shipping companies. To answer your question, there is NO Roro Iloilo to Dapitan. What we did is Iloilo-Bacolod (Roro) then land trip Bacolod-Dumaguete. We then took a Roro Dumaguete to Dipolog.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you!

  5. Hello po! We have a 5:40 am flight from Iloilo to Manila but we’ll be leaving from Bacolod. We’re planning to take the 11 pm RORO trip to Dumangas and from there proceed to Iloilo Airport. Meron po bang transpo from Dumangas to Iloilo City at 1 am? Thank you po!

  6. Hello Kay,

Based on our experience, we always do especially if peak season or weekends. FastCat, you can buy your tickets ahead of time but for the other shipping lines, call their numbers for reservation.

  7. Hi Eusa,

It is best to reserve your time with Roro. For Fastcat, you can buy it ahead. We always do it especially when we travel during peak season like Christmas but if it is just a usual weekday, no need naman.

  8. Hi Valerie,

    Thanks for your informative post.

My family and I will be traveling from CDO onwards to Luzon and would to maximise our travel by visiting various places. We will be visiting Bacolod and connect to Iloilo, then on to Boracay via Aklan.

My question is, what would be our best option if we are to head to Aklan from Iloilo? I believe there are several shipping lines docking at Dumangas? Or should we get the one that docks in Lapuz? Appreciate your input.

    Thanks kn advance!

  9. Hi Eileen,

For me if you go to Lapuz taking FastCat:
    1. Pros – clean, more comfortable, faster
    2. Cons – more expensive rates, limited sailing schedules

    If you decide on Dumangas:
    1. Pros – cheaper, more sailing schedules, and you can save a few minutes of travel time going to Aklan
    2. Cons -ship is not as comfortable as FastCat’s; during peak season (based on our experience, they tend to be disorganized for those who don’t have reservations).

Thank you and have a blast on your awesome roadtrip!

    Regards,
    Valerie
