Repackaging Kusina Tsina

After my short talk on blogging to a group of university girls yesterday, my kids (who were present during my talk) wanted to have some siomai and “batchoy” (kid1’s generic term for noodle soup).

We had some light snacks at Tawili Center where I gave my talk so we thought to just have an early dinner at Kusina Tsina. Sorry photos here have low resolutions, I used my iPad because I rarely take photos while dining with my family.

Kusina Tsina is one of our favorite dining options in Iloilo. It is a no-fail place to eat. My kids love the food and we come here after Sunday mass if my husband is tired or lazy to drive all the way to Miag-ao for our weekly lunch at Doming’s Talabahan.

For those who love Kusina Tsina but didn’t hear the news, it has a new look. Not just renovation but their menu. It used to be a smaller place and the current Kusina Tsina has twice the floor area with enhanced interiors.

Kid2 was a hyper ninja. I really didn’t care because he was an angel while his Mama gave a talk. I was a little tired to bother him. Sorry Kusina Tsina, you know my kids are always good whenever we eat in your restaurant. 🙂

More selections from their new menu

Like these maki selections but isn’t it a little bit of an off-tagent for this Chinese restaurant in Iloilo?

We can try it next time but we had what we usually order starting out this with Beef Wanton Noodle Soup

Buchi! Happy that they finally have it again. It’s been a long time since Kusina Tsina served these sweet balls.. Plus point to the presentation.

I use the word ” repackage” for this post because Kusina Tsina didn’t just renovate their place, the taste of the dishes changed. And no one can argue with that because we are regular customers, we know how our dishes taste like.

I noticed it first with my husband’s favorite Spareribs Rice Toppings; he orders this EVERYTIME we are here..

My husband said, the new taste is better but he was sad about the chili sauce.  He loves the original chili sauce of Kusina Tsina.

My favorite Chicken Feet. It was spicier this time but I LOVE it.

I think they added shrimp to their siomai but I prefer their original recipe or maybe I just love siomai from another dining place in Iloilo.

My kids still love their siomai though so it’s a good sign. We had three servings of siomai. Liam was begging for rice.

The prices increased just a little bit. We paid around 800Php for this food trip. It’s too early to assess the “new” Kusina Tsina but my kids love the food and that’s enough to go back to one of our favorite restaurants in Iloilo.

How about you? Have you tried dining here?
