If you are following my travel writer Facebook page, then this is an old news. My latest contribution is an article on Nelly Garden for View Travel and Lifestyle Magazine.
View Travel and Lifestyle Magazine presents a nostalgic-themed issue and I personally love it. My favorite things are those connected to history thus, it was pleasure writing about Nelly Garden, the grandest house in Iloilo City, owned by the Lopez family.
The Nelly Garden in Jaro, Iloilo City is simply hard to miss. It is imposing and impressive at the same time. Many thanks to View Travel and Lifestyle Magazine for giving me an opportunity to write this article and share Nelly Garden as a must-see landmark in Iloilo.
I focused my story on the history of the house that shaped not just the Lopez family’s history but also its role in Iloilo’s past. I am proud of the article and I offer this work to my late UP History professor, Professor Henry Funtecha. Wish I could show this article to him 🙁
Please grab a copy of View Travel and Lifestyle Magazine. If you love architecture and old houses, you will definitely enjoy reading their August issue. I personally love old houses, these structures are often featured in my travel blog and in my travel stories.
Aside from Iloilo’s Nelly Garden, the magazine also features Aguinaldo Shrine ( Kawit, Cavite), Pamintuan Mansion ( Angeles City, Pampanga), Manilay Mansion ( General Santos City) and the Bahay Nakpil-Bautista (Quiapo).
This issue serves as your travel writer’s wish list on ancestral homes that I have to visit. Hope you can also visit these ancestral houses as this is the only way to preserve these historical structures.
Have you read this month’s View Travel and Lifestyle Magazine?
