My Blogapalooza Experience

I’ve been blogging for almost 8 years now and so far, so good. I will always be grateful that I am live in an era where moms can earn money without ” going to work”.  Blogging has evolved. While I primarily used my blog as a portfolio, I have transition to directly earning from my blog by collaborating with businesses. In fact, blogging is no longer an online journal but a marketing tool harnessed by business and bloggers, who are now influencers.

What is Blogapalooza?

Many bloggers no longer treat blogging as a hobby that pays. It is not just a hobby anymore, it is  business with passion. Passion for sharing and writing about what you love about. Passion towards the interest of your readers.

Blogapalooza is the country’s biggest B2B (Business-to-Blogger) networking and marketing event.  It all started in 2011 when the Blogapalooza team gathered a few bloggers and back then, only few businesses answered the call.

It is an event where businesses can meet bloggers who they can collaborate with through the blogger’s contents and social media. For bloggers, it is a chance to meet potential advertisers  for their blogs. If you are serious with your blogging career, you need to work with brands.

For Blogapalooza 2016, the theme is “Charting the Uncharted Horizon” and for the first time, Blogapalooza was attended by bloggers outside Metro Manila. Blogapalooza brought bloggers from all over Luzon like Zambales, Visayas, and Mindanao and flocked to Novotel Araneta Center ( stay tuned for my hotel feature on Novotel) for a one-day event last November 5.

Yours truly represented Iloilo Bloggers along with my fellow Ilonggo blogger, Greg Flores.  I appreciate how Blogapalooza has opened the doors to influencers in other parts of the country, charting more influence.

The Bridal Gazebo of Novotel Araneta Center’s 6th floor was field with booths from different brands and companies with their own way of attracting bloggers to know more about their business. It was fun hopping from one booth to another, though I felt a little shy approaching them. Glad that all of them have big smiles on their faces and has the enthusiasm to meet us, bloggers.

On top of the exhibitions, there were series of talks throughout the event. I personally like the talks, learning a lot even after almost a decade of blogging.

Here is the Panel Discussion with Ace along with bloggers from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao!

Blogapalooza 2016 wrapped up with the launching of Buzzin, a new platform that matches bloggers and brands. I am excited about this because, I have joined campaigns from international brands and with Buzzin, I get to work on campaigns for local brands.

To sum it all, Blogapalooza is well spent “me time” as a blogger and as a mother. I got a chance to spend days by myself while nurturing my blogging career. Plus, I got to meet bloggers and gained new friends!

Kudos to Blogapalooza! Madamo guid na salamat!
