Sorry for missing my blog schedule. Last week was a little chaotic in my kingdom. My eldest son went back to school and my youngest will be next week. So I was running around like a headless chicken getting my boys settled with orientations and school needs in between sending query letters to various editors
and cleaning my home office.
I hope you won’t mind me celebrating my 5th anniversary as a freelance writer with you. Gosh, how time flies from the moment I prayed to have an opportunity to work at home to be with my son. That time, I thought it was impossible, but here I am!
I lasted this long and I hope I’ll stay longer. Freelance writing is my soulmate and I am always grateful to have this chance -to know that this is what I want and it worked perfectly.
If I will assess myself, I think I did pretty good. Not in monetary terms of course. Haha. My family especially my kids come first. I don’t work on weekends and during exam week. Why do Pinoy parents so stress-out with their kids’ exams? haha.
Seriously, I’m very happy that finally I got published. First in other online travel sites like The Circumference for giving me my first by-line as a “writer”.
I grew up reading magazines and forever thankful to Mabuhay Magazine for giving me assignments and mentoring me as a travel writer.
This year’s highlight is the cover story I wrote for Mabuhay Magazine’s December issue.
My longtime clients, what a pleasure growing our businesses together! Thank you for our new-found friendship! Hopefully we can all meet!
I would also like to thank my family and my friends. They are my first readers and fans, just like most bloggers. I call them my Facebook page’s “auto-likers” and commentators.
And of course, this simple blog connected me to new people. Real people even if we haven’t met. Thank you for those you took time to read and leave a comment . Only one out of 100 readers leave a comment and I really appreciate that. You know who you are!
I love this blog so much, a birthday gift from my brilliant brother who is a mobile developer ( click here for his site). This really helped me a lot in freelance writing especially when I was a new freelance writer. So thank you little brother.
For the next five years, I hope you will still join me. A simple community sharing different things and being nice to let me share my thoughts with you.
Enough of this narrative, so showbiz already. I think I’m a humblebrag here. haha. So again, thank you!
