January is a month of festivals. This month, three festivals in the Visayas, Dinagyang ( Iloilo), Ati-Atihan ( Kalibo) and Sinulog ( Cebu) take centerstage for Mabuhay Magazine, Philippine Airlines’ inflight travel and lifestyle magazine.
I wrote two articles for this issue – Dinagyang and Kalibo. Kinda ironic because I am Cebuana 😉 Someday, I can write about Sinulog.
For Dinagyang Festival, I wrote about what to do in Iloilo during the festival. From where to dine, places to visit and where to party.
Angle of the story is what’s new in Iloilo. Perfect for those who have visited Iloilo before and another reason to come back.
Now let’s go to my second article for this January 2014 issue – Kalibo. Ati-atihan is a must. If you haven’t attended any festival, try Kalibo’s festival. It is great for those who are not so fond of crowds.
Title says it all, what to expect from the festival and what to do in Kalibo during the Ati-Atihan Festival
I encourage all of you to travel to Kalibo for the Ati-Atihan. It’s traveling with a cause, a way of helping the town and the rest of Aklan post-Yolanda/Haiyan.
Hope you can read them during your flights with Philippine Airlines. You can also read the issue and my articles here.

Congratulations on your new articles at Mabuhay Magazine. This is a big help in promoting our world class festivals in Panay Island.
