Love it or hate it, Boracay Island officially conquered the international travel scene. Named as “The Best Island in the World” and its White Beach as “Third Best Party Beach”, the world has finally heard our most famous white-sand island.
The cover for this month’s issue of Mabuhay Magazine, Philippine Airlines’ inflight magazine, I’m proud to be the travel writer for this feature. Of course, like most travelers, I was not that excited to write about Boracay and as wise as he is, Mabuhay’s editor-in-chief sensed my reluctance. But that changed when he e-mailed me this
” I know that you might hate the crowd and the over commercialism but it’s not about us or our own personal opinion..”
That has been my unofficial tenet as a travel writer. I drew the insights of other people and this in case from my families who worship Boracay. From my father who is impressed with the complete line of amenities, my mom who just love the bustling activities and to my kids who can’t enough with the sands of this island-muse. And from them, I learned to love Boracay once again. Had deep internalization and finally wrote the article.
For this travel feature, I listed down the things that make Boracay Island the best in the world. Just to remind you that I’m the writer, not the model. haha!
